Tredds and Stitch Storage are both self storage management tools, but they fit different owners. Very small operators who want to own a desktop program and pay once. Stitch fits owners who want online rentals, autopay and access from any browser.
We make Stitch Storage, so read this with that in mind. Tredds facts are from its own site, press or review listings, dated as of October 2026.

Best for
- Tredds: Very small operators who want to own a desktop program and pay once.
- Stitch Storage: Owners who want online rentals, autopay and access from any browser.
Where Tredds is stronger
- One-time license. No monthly licensing fee per a Capterra listing, and reviewers value owning the software.
- Simple tools for small sites: customer search, simple reports, role-based staff access.
- Support. Reviewers on Capterra rate customer service highly.
- Fit for 50 to 450 units, per the same listing.
Where Stitch is stronger
- Runs in a browser. Tredds is Windows desktop software.
- Online rentals and autopay built in. We did not find them in Tredds' feature lists.
- Free facility page and lien timelines by state.
- Price lock and no contracts, with free migration in 48 hours.
Stitch is built for 1 to 3 facilities and 30 to 300 units. It is not the right fit for operators with hundreds of facilities or enterprise custom integrations.
Price math
We could not confirm Tredds' price on its own site. Listings describe a one-time license, so the sum is different from a monthly plan. Say Tredds costs you X once. Stitch Pro costs $99 a month, or $1,188 a year, plus 0.3% of rent processed ($28.50 a month on $9,500). Divide X by the annual Stitch cost to see how many years the license takes to pay off, and add anything you spend on a PC, backups and payment processing. A one-time license can be the lower-cost path for a site that needs few features.

Decision checklist
Answer these before you choose.
- Do I want to see the price before I talk to a salesperson?
- Am I willing to sign a contract, or do I want to leave any month?
- Do I need online rentals and autopay without staff?
- Do I need lien timelines for my state?
- Do I need a website for my facility, and is a free facility page enough?
- Does the vendor publish what it costs to move in and out?
- Can I get my data out as a file whenever I want?
- Have I asked for references from a facility my size?
If most answers point to flat public pricing, no contract and free migration, try Stitch. If you value what Tredds does best, stay and ask for a written quote. Read the full Tredds alternative page, and see free migration.
