Stitch Storage reports show what is vacant, who owes and what you earned, in plain words. The set includes rent roll, occupancy by unit and square foot, delinquency aging, revenue, move-ins and move-outs, and payout reconciliation. Every report exports to CSV and PDF.
Why owners skip reports
Many reports are built for accountants. They are long and full of codes. An owner wants three answers: how full am I, who is behind, and what did I make.
The reports, one by one
| Report | Answers |
|---|---|
| Rent roll | Every unit, tenant, rate and balance on a date |
| Occupancy (unit and square foot) | How full you are by count and by space |
| Delinquency aging | Who owes, grouped 0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90, 90+ days |
| Revenue by category | Rent, fees, protection plans |
| Move-ins and move-outs | Net change in tenants |
| Rate change history | When and how rents changed |
| Payment and payout reconciliation | Whether deposits match payments |
| Management summary (PDF) | One page for lenders or partners |
A Monday morning routine
- Open occupancy. Note vacant units.
- Open delinquency aging. Call the 0 to 30 group first, since they are most likely to pay.
- Check move-ins and move-outs. Net movement for the month.
- Glance at revenue. Compare to last month.
- At month end, run reconciliation to match payouts to your bank.
Worked example: unit versus economic occupancy
Say you have 120 units with gross potential rent of $12,000 at asking rates. You have 108 rented, so unit occupancy is 90%. They pay an average of $95, so rent is $10,260. Collected is $10,260 against potential $12,000, or 85.5%. That is your economic occupancy. The 4.5 point gap is rent lost to discounts and lower in-place rates. If 6 tenants are past due at $95, $570 is not collected yet, and delinquency aging puts a name next to each.

Square foot occupancy
Unit count can mislead. Rent 90 of 100 small units and you might still have an empty large building. Occupancy by square foot shows space, not just doors.
Reconciliation
When Stripe pays out, deposits are grouped. The reconciliation report ties each payout back to the payments inside it, so your books match your bank.
What to look for in reporting
| Criterion | Why |
|---|---|
| Plain names | You should not need a glossary |
| CSV and PDF | Share with a bookkeeper |
| Aging buckets | Prioritize calls |
| Both occupancy types | Avoid one-sided views |
| Payout match | Cleaner bookkeeping |
Cost
Reports are included. Starter $39 a month (up to 50 units), Pro $99 a month (unlimited units), additional facility $59, 0.3% platform fee on rent. No contracts. See pricing.
Reading the delinquency report
Delinquency aging groups what is owed by how late it is. A practical way to work it:
| Bucket | Typical action |
|---|---|
| 0 to 30 days | Friendly reminder, offer a payment link |
| 31 to 60 days | Call, confirm they got notices, check lockout status |
| 61 to 90 days | Review the lien timeline for your state with your attorney |
| 90+ days | Lien steps or a settlement plan |
Say you have $1,140 past due: $380 in 0 to 30, $285 in 31 to 60, $190 in 61 to 90 and $285 in 90+. The first bucket is the easiest money to collect, so start there. The last bucket is the one to bring to your attorney. For more, read the guide on reducing delinquency.
Move-ins and move-outs
Net move-ins tell you if you are growing. Say you had 6 move-ins and 4 move-outs this month. Net is plus 2. If your average rent is $95, that is about $190 more a month in rent once those units are settled. Watch the trend over several months, since one month proves little.
Rate change history
If you raise rents, this report lists when and how much. It keeps your records straight, helps you explain a change to a tenant, and lets you review how many people left after an increase.
The management summary
The one-page summary is made for a lender or partner. It brings together the main numbers on a page, so you do not hand over a stack of exports. Review it before you share it, and check that the figures match your books.
Exporting
Every report exports to CSV for a spreadsheet and PDF for printing. Your bookkeeper or tax preparer can work from the CSV. You can export your data anytime, whether or not you stay a customer.
Good habits
- Run the same reports on the same day each week.
- Write down three numbers: occupancy, past due, collected.
- Compare to the prior month, not to a guess.
- Ask why before you act. A drop in occupancy may be a seasonal move-out or a price problem.
